My life is filled with tiny trinkets acting as wee adornments of my life, reminding me of a trail of emotions: joyful, immense, sorrowful, and fleeting.

This Donald Duck charm belongs to my older sister. When I look at it, I can't help but think of how she has shaped me. Loved me. Saved me.

As kids, I was in awe of her! While my heart was fearful she seemed fearless. While my actions were shy and timid, she was natural and effortless. She was my protector, my captain, my unspoken best friend, though we rarely played together. Having her near would anchor me in heartfelt safety; a thread of her soul tenderly tethering me to her. She was my harbor when I could have easily been lost in by my own inner world. I love you deeply, Allison.
